REARDAN, Wash., Oct. 28.—The petition of the county commissioners and Reardan citizens for the right of way for a wagon road across the Spokane Indian reservation to the Cedar canyon mines has been granted by the interior department.

The county will build a bridge across the Spokane river at a point 12 miles north of this plate and the people of Reardan and vicinity will construct the road, for which purpose $5600 has already been subscribed.

The construction of this road will make Reardan the most accessible railroad point to a fine mineral belt. There is also a large body of rich agricultural and mineral lands on the east half of the reservation which will also be tributary to the place.

It is expected that with the opening to settlement and the development of the reservation the business of the town will be doubled. The committee in charge of the work will push the construction of the road as early as possible in the spring.
