'''The Spirit of Reardan High'''

This is your school. This is the place where students have labored
to prepare for the future, and this is the place where their laughter meant
that our American way of education is not without joy and pleasure known
only to the Freedoms and Liberties of a Democracy.

It takes more than structural excellence and beauty to make a good
school. It takes youth with a burning desire to better himself, his community,
his state—his country—youth teaming together with conscientous
parents and teachers, all being of the firm conviction that life's one
great satisfaction is in contributing to the future progress of the nation
and of the whole world.

The one great hope for America and the world lies in America's
youth. It is they who ultimately will be the deciding factors in the future
destiny of all men. It is America's educational institutions—supported
whole-heartedly by the parents and teachers—that bear the responsibility
of providing youth with opportunities to ‘equip’ himself for the great
task ahead. In connection with this, it is now recognized that modern
education is a two-way street, the home being at one end and the school
at the other end.

Here, at Reardan, we are blessed with a good school—a blessing
that stems from the close cooperation and friendliness among students,
teachers, and parents. Reardan ranks high in community spirit, and
that spirit makes its presence known in the school. Nineteen senior students
will be graduating in June, joining the hundreds and hundreds of
young folks who have gone into the world ahead of them. The school
and community join in wishing them success and happiness in their future
ventures in life, and that wish is also handed down to all graduates in
the coming years.
