'''Class History'''

In September of 1947, a bunch of half-scared Frosh walked into the doors of Reardan
High School. New students entering the class were Edward Green, Harry Carroll, and Howard
Kelly. Six students entered our class from Four Mound. They were: Ruth Christensen, Mary
Lou Kamm, Irene Remmers, Wayne Delzer, Jack Fields, and Billy LaRue. Later in the year
Jean Piper transferred from Lewis and Clark.

The following officers were elected: President, Ruth Christensen; Vice President, Billy
LaRue; Secretary, Don Clayton; Treasurer, Elinor Flood; Class Advisor, Mr. Bill Diedrick.
We were initiated during the last part of September. A return party was given for the seniors
later in the year.

We chose as our class colors, green and white. Our class flowers, the pink and white
carnations. We selected as our motto "The Elevator to Success is not Running; Take the
Stairs".

During our Sophomore year, we elected the class officers as follows:
President, Audrey Lightle; Vice President, Mary Lou Kamm, Treasurer,
Irene Remmers; Secretary, Darlene Reilly; Student Council Representative,
Ruth Christensen; Advisor, Mr. Walter Johnson. Students that left
us were: Edward Green, Harry Carroll, Glory Cramer and Melvin Dalmon.
Ralph Gifford was the only one to join the class. A party was held during
March. It was planned for St. Patrick’s Day.

Starting the year off in 1949 as upperclassmen, we elected Don
Clayton, President; Ruth Christensen, Vice President; Mary Lou Kamm,
Secretary; Elinor Flood, Treasurer; Bob Rogers, Student Council Representative;
Mrs. Lola Spencer, Class Advisor.

The Junior-Senior Prom was held April 28. The theme’ was Mexican Fiesta. The gym
was beautifully decorated in Mexican designs. Mrs. Lola Spencer was in charge. The
Junior play,"Three Blind Dates", was given November ll. Mrs. Lola Spencer was the play
director. Students that left us were Peter Tramm, Betty Kelly and Billy LaRue. New students
one our class were Margaret Buell from Prosser and Mary Rettkowski from Holy Names
in Spokane.

As Seniors, we chose Don Clayton, President; Mary Lou Kamm, Vice President; Arlene
Nicholes, Treasurer; Laura Thiemens, Secretary; and Mr. Glen Wisdom, Class Advisor.
Students that left were Irene Remmers, Margaret Buell, and Audrey Lightle, But we gained
one new student, Bob Mohr from Lewis and Clark. And Wilma Rupnow joined our class by
completing her high school education in three years.

During April the seniors put on their annual play, "Pistol Pete", a comedy.

On September 25 we had the pleasure of leading the freshmen to the "slaughter house"
for their initiation.

On October 16 the seniors started off bright and early in the morning for their Senior
sneak. They visited the KXLY studio, where they got their first glimpse of television. They
then ventured on a trip up Priest River to "Hill Crest Lodge" where they ate dinner and
participated in various activities. Then back to Spokane where they ate supper at the Desert,
then later went to a movie. It was a very enjoyable day for everyone.

The seniors being together for twelve years, are the following: Anna Stark, Donna
Stark, Nadine Howard, Don Clayton, Laura Thiemens, and Donald Mann.

As Seniors we leave the hope that there will be a new high school in the near future.
