'''GIRLS LEAGUE MOTTO'''

Honors, Service and Loyalty

The Girl's League of Reardan High School is a service organization, Any girl may
become a member. This year we had forty-eight members.

The officers for the school year 1952-53 are as follows:

This year we were divided into committees, each with a special work to do. The
committees are as follows:

Personal Efficiency: Chairman, Esther Humphrey; Asst. Winnie Lou Puls.
Entertainment: Chairman, Carol Lightle; Asst., Joanne Weyen.

The general theme of the meetings was vocations and avocations. Each month had
its special topic.

April—Merchandising
May—Modeling and designing.

The new members were initiated into the Club on October 20. Each Freshman girl
lighted a candle and repeated the Girl’s League Oath.

In fulfilling the function of our organization, last fall we filled food baskets for
needy families. These were distributed to two families, one in Spokane and one in Reardan.
A turkey, vegetables, and baked goods comprised the food donated.

Other activities consisted of candy sales, making of scrap books, food sales,
providing the student body with a Christmas program, and the sponsoring of movies.

The Girl’s League was active also in tuberculosis donations, and also by sending a
delegate, Bernadine Schmitt, to the Lincoln County T. B. meetings.

This year the Girl’s League purchased a popcorn machine as a means of making
money. It proved to be a good investment.

Members of the Girl’s League helped with the decorating for the school Carnival.
Some of the girls worked in the booths the night of the Carnival.

As part of our social program, we sponsored a roller skating party at Dishman,
Washington. Many of the high school students participated in this event.

On May 19, we concluded our years activities with a picnic at Silver Lake. This was
a very joyous occasion.

The girls get a certain number of points for doing different jobs, These points when
accumulated to the needed number enable the girl to get a pin. The points needed for
each pin are:

60 points: Second year pin
90 points: Third year pin
120 points: Fourth year pin
