BI-COUNTY PLAY OFF

The Reardan Indians won the Lincoln-Adams Bi-County Championship by defeating Harrington, 50-45, in Wilbur's gymnasium. Harrington lead at halftime, 29-27. The Indians came back to lead, 37-36, at the end of third quarter.

DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

Reardan took Fairfield easily in the first game at the N.E. District play offs, 69-31. In the second game, the Indians hit Marcus, the team that beat them out of a trip to the state last year. The Reardan five got their revenge by defeating Marcus, 64-50.

This gave the Indians the right to play Mead for the championship. Reardan swarmed all over Mead to lead 39-14, at the half time. Reardan coasted through the second half to win, 64-49, and became North East District Champions for the first time in the history of R.H.S.

The Indians were then placed on a train and "shipped" to Tacoma to play at the State Tournament. The Reardan boys just couldn't get going and lost the first game, 46-44 to Colfax. The next day the Indians dropped out of the running, losing to Zillah, 51-49. This ended the most impressive season of basketball the Reardan fans have ever witnessed.

The Indians won two trophies, the Lincoln Adams Bi-County Championship and N.E. District Championship, during the season. All five of the boys made the Northside Bi-County All-Star teams picked by the coaches, Keith Schulz, Richard Stuhlmiller, and Junior Anyan were chosen for the first team and Glenn Atkinson and Harold Krupke the second team. At the District, three boys made the all star team. Keith Schulz was chosen on the first five, Richard Stuhlmiller and Junior Anyan placed on the second five.
