FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA

The Future Farmers of America held their first business meeting of the school year on September 27. The following officers were elected:
President: Richard Stuhlmiller
Vice President: Marvin Carstens
Secretary: Harold Krupke
Treasurer: Keith Schulz
Advisor: Mr. Walter S. Johnson
The next event was “Feeders Day” which was held at Washington State College. “Feeders Day’ has developed into an annual event. This year it was held on a Tuesday, September 28. Twenty-six boys availed themselves of the educational opportunities offered on this day. The program consisted of lectures and demonstrations on proper methods of feeding, a barbeque lunch at noon and an inspection trip through the Bohler Gymnasium constituted the days activities.
On March 19, a group of boys under the supervision of Mr. Johnson attended the Field Day held at Wesdale Farms at Bluestem. The boys attending were Daniel Plaster, Harold Rhodes, Bernard Thiemens and John Morris. The boys judged in the following classes, Aberdeen Angus calves and Aberdeen Angus cows.
The boys who have sent in entries to take livestock to the Junior Livestock Show are as follows: Richard Stuhlmiller, Shorthorn steer; Keith Schulz, Shorthorn steer; Marvin Carstens, two Hereford steers; Wayne Repp, Hereford steer; Daniel Plaster, Shorthorn steer; and Dale Dahlin, two Chesterwhite pigs.
