Girls League
The first Girls League meeting of the year was held on September 19, forty-five members were enrolled.
The officers for the 1956-57 year were as follows:
President: Donna Collier
Vice-president: . Joanne Pietz
Secretary: Marlene Bergeron
Treasurer: Kathy Mahrt
Council Rep.: Lavina Triplett
Advisor: Miss Oberg
Besides the officers, two representatives from each class were elected to be on the _ Council:
Doris Dickinson, June Rhoads Julia Clayton, Barbara Foryan Barbara Anyan, Glenice Robinson Lorene Remmers, Norma Clouse
By doing different jobs the girls can earn points, which enables them to get a pin. The number of points needed are as follows.
50 points First year pin
100 points Second year pin
150 points Third year pin
200 points Fourth year pin
During the months we had the following special activities: SEPTEMBER—The point system was explained.
OCTOBER—We elected two members from each class to be on the Girls League Council. The new members in the Girls League were initiated.
NOVEMBER—We gave a Thanksgiving basket to a needy family. The girls did their share of work for the school Carnival. They helped decorate and worked in the booths the night of the Carnival.
DECEMBER—We gave small toys to the Children’s home in Spokane. We also had a clothing drive for needy people of other countries.
FEBRUARY—We served refreshments after the Davenport basketball game. MARCH—This was the month of the annual St. Patrick’s Day Dance.
APRIL—Paul Lillengreen showed us slides of his trip to Australia.
