SEPTEMBER—The new girls were given Big Sisters to acquaint them with the organization and the school. New members were initiated and officers were installed. Our guest speaker was Dennie Dressel, President of the Lewis and Clark Girls Federation.

OCTOBER—The Girls League Council was elected. Mr. Leffel from Kinman Business University spoke on "Careers In Business." He showed slides pertaining to business machines and told of opportunities in business.

NOVEMBER—A Thanksgiving basket was given to a needy family. We started some- thing new to our League, membership cards. The girls worked hard on the Carnival by decorating and operating some of the booths.

DECEMBER—We entered into the spirit of Christmas by giving gifts to the children at the Washington Children’s Home, by decorating the school with snow flakes and a tree, and by playing Christmas records during the noon hour at school, Mr. Paul Huff, the speaker for the December meeting, played records, showed slides, and displayed Japanese clothes, all of which he had collected during his stay in Japan.

JANUARY—World Clothing Week was a big success with contributions from both grade and high school. During the month we served hot dogs and pop to the Lamont and Reardan teams after the ball game. Mrs. Smith from Washington Water Power was the speaker for the January meeting. She told of the care of miracle fabrics.

FEBRUARY—The Freshman girls entertained at the meeting by giving a style show of attic relics.

MARCH—As a contrast to the February Style Show, Helene McKay, fashion buyer for the Bon Marche showed the new look, the chemise. During March we had the Annual St. Patrick’s Dance. Bill Sanders and his band from Cheney furnished the music.
