Our High School Activities
FRESHMAN YEAR
Our first school activity, as it is for all freshmen, was our initiation. The event followed the usual pattern. Although we did not like to admit it then, we enjoyed it. Bill Mahrt received the prize for being the most cooperative. Also that year our class gave a party for the entire high school.
SOPHOMORE YEAR
Our sophomore year we had an April Fool’s party featuring a movie and dancing for the high school. Also that year we had a sleighing party and went to Marjorie Wendlandt’s home for refreshments and games. Another activity was the surprise going- away party for Mr. and Mrs. Stelljes, given by Norma Clouse.
JUNIOR YEAR
One activity of our Junior year was our class play entitled “No More Homework”. The play was a three act comedy. On the evening of April 21, we honored the seniors with a Junior-Senior Prom. The theme was “Hawaiian Cruise” and the gym was stunningly decorated to carry out this theme.
SENIOR YEAR
Our first activity as seniors was the initiation of the freshmen. The next activity was another sleighing party, following the same pattern as our sophomore party. On March 28, the senior class presented the play, “Cheaper By The Dozen”, which was a great success, The majority of the senior class attended Career Day at Wilbur on April 24. We were also very pleased with the banquet and prom put on for us by the Junior class on the evening of April 27. Other activities of the seniors were: Senior day, May 4 at Wenatchee, and the Senior Progressive Dinner given to the seniors by their parents. Our last and most important events were Baccalaureate and Commencement.
Our class was very active all four years in various activities such as F.F.A., Athletics, Girls’ League, Band and Chorus.
