Friends Pay Tribute to William Ditmar

Pioneers and old-timers of the Davenport country joined in paying final tribute to William H. Ditmar of Mondovi. Big Bend pioneer, at funeral rites Tuesday afternoon in the Presbyterian church at Davenport. The Rev. Robert K. Fogel and the Knights of Pythias of Davenport officiated.

Favorite hymns were sung by the church quartet and another favorite of Mr. Ditmars. “Goin’ Home” (Dvorak) was played as an organ prelude.

The funeral cortege left the Ball-Bumgarner-Swanson mortuary in Spokane at 11:30 a. m. for Davenport and at the city limits was met by a special guard of honor composed of 16 members of the Pythian lodge of Davenport. The guard made double limes at the entrance to the church.
