Othello Jamboree

Reardan F.F.A. boys swept the afternoon events at Othello to take second place in the first Annual Othello F.F.A. Jamboree. Afternoon events in which the Reardan boys had the top team scores were: crops judging, a shop contest and a general agricultural contest. The morning events were tractor driving, land judging and livestock judging. The Reardan shop contest team of Jerry Schultz, Herb Franson and David Ensor won their contest and placed first, second and third individually in that order. Five Reardan boys placed in the top ten in the crops judging contest. Ken Koch was second: Bob Clouse, sixth; Gene Nance, seventh; Bob Jones, ninth; and Ken Ahlf, tenth. Wayne Rattray topped all contestants in the General Agricultural Contest, with Chester Hanson placing third and Bob Snow, seventh. The only events in which entries were limited were tractor driving in which.but one boy from each school could enter, and the shop contest in which a three-man team per school could participate. Seventeen boys took part from Reardan.

Other events of the chapter will include the Davenport Preview, April 26; St. John Livestock judging, April 26; Spokane Junior Lievstock Show, May 5-9; Project tour, April 30; and Parent and Son Banquet, May 13.
