SENIOR CLASS HISTORY (Continued)
Our Junior year was a very progressive and interesting year. Leaders this year were:
President: Don Beck
Vice President: Ona Brommer
Secretary: Glenna Landreth
Treasurer: Shirley Clayton
Student Representative: Donalee Delzer
Advisor: Mr. Johnson
The first step was the play, “Miss Jimmy”, under the direction of Mr. Coffey, given April 16. With the efforts of the cast and work of the director the play was a big success. A party was enjoyed by the cast the night before the play at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Coffey.
Next the annual prom with the theme “In Apple Blossom Time.” We chose the "Melody Makers” of Harrington. A wonderful time was had by everyone in a gym decorated with fir trees and apple blossoms.
And here at last the long awaited year has arrived. The ‘49ers’ were on the last round up in R.H.S.
Officers this year were:
President: Clifford Bergeron
Vice President: Charles Eastman
Secretary: Phyllis Weyen
Treasurer: Mary Paul
Student Representative: Larry Landreth
Advisor: Mr. Wisdom
The first activity of the year was the play “Brother Goose”. Directed by Mrs. Spencer, given on November 19. A wonderful party was enjoyed after the play, given by Mr. and Mrs. Spencer.
Announcements were chosen from Master Engravers. In the announcements the ‘49er’ theme was carried out. Our class motto is “Where there’s a will there’s a way”. Class flower is the American Beauty Rose and colors, Blue and White.
On April 25, the senior mothers treated the seniors and advisor to a dinner in Spokane and later we were all taken to a show.
Baccalaureate was presented on May 29th. Commencement exercises took place on June 1st.
