T. R. Major, chairman of the board of county commissioners and Prosecuting Attorney Rochford were at Spokane Tuesday in attendance at a conference with two members of the Spokane county board and Prosecuting Attorney Barnhart regarding the building of the Lapray bridge. The contract as prepared by Spokane county had been rejected by the Stevens county board. The desired changes and corrections were made at this conference and the revised contract was duly signed by all parties. As a matter of interest to Stevens county taxpayers it may be well to state that their board of county commissioners has been exacting in every particular in letting the contract for this expenditure of $4,250 as Stevens county’s share of the Lapray bridge, and every possible method of safeguarding the county’s interests has been used. The board is not in particular need of bouquets from the newspapers, but it is well to let those away from the county seat know their interests are being properly looked after all the time.
