REARDAN WOMEN AT PIONEER MEET


Club Is Entertained at Home of Mrs. J. C. Driscoll—Lodge Will Meet.


REARDAN, Wash. March 18.—(Special.)— Wednesday evening the Reardan Women's club was entertained at the home of Mrs. J. C. Driscoll, who was assisted by Mrs. Hattie Raymer and Mrs. A. Quirie. The pioneer women of the community were the honored guests at this meeting and the program was fashioned along pioneer lines.

Roll call was responded to by the members answering the question “Why Did You Come to Reardan?"’ Mrs. Driscoll read a paper descriptive of_early days and early pioneers of this community; Mrs. Neil Bowie exhibited a copy of the Reardan Messenger, the first paper published here, and also a copy of the first issue of the Reardan Gazette, now being printed here.

Starlight auxiliary of the Eastern Star will be entertained next Tues- day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Edward Hopkins. Assistant hostesses will be Mrs. J. C. Hampton and Mrs. J. P. Cruser.

Next Thursday afternoon the Lutheran Ladies’ society will meet in the church parlors with Mrs. Anna Schwartz and Mrs. D. C. Humphrey as hostesses.

Mrs. G. H. Finrow entertained 15 friends yesterday at afternoon tea.
