DAMAGED SPAN FALLS IN RIVER

DAVENPORT, Wash., May 23.—The Detillion bridge, crossing Spokane river between Lincoln and Stevens counties on state road No. 22, north of Davenport, collapsed into the river today.

The bridge was damaged Thursday when a gasoline transport trailer broke loose on the Stevens county side and crashed into the north end.

State highway crews working on the bridge were off the structure when it collapsed, but had walked across earlier in the day and their cars were on the Lincoln county side.

Traffic is routed via Lincoln, Nee bridge and Enterprise.
