REARDAN COUPLE BUILDING CAFE

REARDAN, Wash., Jan. 19.—Mr. and Mrs. George Tibbett, proprietors of Red's cafe, last October began the construction of a restaurant on Spring street, the town's main thoroughfare Mrs. Tibbett drew up the plans and Laurin Humphrey is the contractor.

The building is an L-shape and and measures 80 feet square. It will he divided into a restaurant having dimensions of 40x50 feet, a five-room apartment for the owners, and a recreation room 30x80 feet. The latter will have roller skating or dancing facilities with sufficient space for 100 persons; shuffleboard: pool, ping pong and} numerous other table games. Decoration will be done in Mexican-western design and the finish in knotty pine.

The building will be known as “The Ranch House” and will be completed in the spring.

Since January 10 the schools have remained closed. The night of Friday the 13th more than 18 persons, overtaken by the blizzard, were temporarily housed in the homes of local residents. William A. Colville was instrumental in finding quarters for many of them.
