Trailer and Swift Current Cheat River Clearance Crew

Historic Detillion bridge, near the mouth the Spokane river, has cheated the human wrecking crew, which was scheduled to remove it piece by piece in the next few months. The bridge is now a twisted wreck in the bottom of the Spokane river. The south end of the structure was pushed off its foundation last of week when a tank trailer, out of control crashed into it. The swift stream did the rest. The picture was taken from the south bank. Traffic to Hunters and other river towns is being detoured by Long Lake dam, a few miles upstream, and by the bridge at Lincoln at the mouth of the Spokane, A temporary pile bridge will be erected soon near the wrecked structure.
