COMMUNITY DAY QUEEN SELECTED

REARDAN, Wash., May 24.—Miss Phyllis Meyer, high school junior, is Reardan’s 1955 Community day queen. She won the title last night in competition with Princesses Gwen Janett and Janice Hendricks.

The queen was selected at a meeting of the Reardan PTA at which the three candidates made three appearances before the group in afternoon dresses, street apparel and formals. Each gave prepared and extemporaneous talks and was judged on personality, speaking ability, poise, posture and beauty.

Judges were E. M. Sterling, James Shelton and John J. Lemon, all of the Spokane Daily Chronicle staff.

Queen Phyllis and the princesses will preside over Community, day activities June 4.
