Marvin Evers

Dayton, Wash.

Memorial service for Marvin D. Evers, 72, is scheduled for p.m. today at First Congregational Church in Dayton; Hubbard-Rogg Funeral Home in Dayton is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Evers, who was born in Reardan, Wash., died Monday.

He graduated from Washington State University with degrees in agriculture, science and education. He taught vocational agriculture at Dayton High School for 32 years.

After he retired, he taught at Walla Walla Community College and worked for Carroll Adams Tractor and Equipment Co, in Walla Walla.

He held a Future Farmers of America Honorary Farmer degree and was named the outstanding vo-ag teacher in Washington state three times.

Mr. Evers was a professional sheep and swine judge and was recently named to the Washington Pork Producers Hall of Fame.

He was active in the Columbia County Fair Board and Bureau and the Spokane Junior Livestock Show. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Dayton.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Norma Evers, at the home; two daughters, Kathy Meyer of Pullman and Mary Sue Evers of Canby, Ore.; one brother, Howard Evers of Medical Lake; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marvin Evers Scholarship Fund, First Congregational Memorial Fund, or the American Heart Fund in care of Hubbard-Rogg Funeral Home, 11S. Second St., Dayton, WA 99328.
