On September 7, 1948, 16 Juniors entered the doors of Reardan Hign School, to start their third year of high school. We were all proud to be considered an upper classman. We were glad to welcome a new member, Lorene Tremmer. During the year we lost Verdella Haeger, but in the spring she returned to join us once again.

We elected officers as follows:

President: Jerry Owens

Vice President: Verdella Haeger

Treasurer: Marvin Carstens

Secretary: Iva_ Atkinson

Prom Promoter: Sally Landreth

Junior Play: Richard Stuhlmiller

On March 18, the Reardan High School presented an All-High Play, of which three Juniors participated, Jerry Owens, Marvin Carstens, and Joyce Brommer.

The boys seem to be athletically minded. They participated in football, basketball, and baseball. Those participating in football were: Jerry, Richard, Keith, Harold, Marvin, Earl, Jimmy, and Charlie.

During the basketball season, the Juniors made up the majority of the “main five” Keith Schulz, Richard Stuhlmiller, and Harold Krupke. Oh! yes we must not forget Jimmy Bergeron, who acted as manager for the latter part of the season.

Those who turned out for baseball were: Harold, Marvin, Jerry, Keith, Earl, and Charlie.

The Juniors presented a delightfully funny 3-act play, “We Shook the Family Tree" on April the 29th. It concerned the attempts of the Dolson’s charming daughter to get a date for the Junior-Senior Prom. And get one she did, but not without upsetting the entire Dolson family, the Shermers, the neighbors, and Hildegarde herself!

The theme of the Junior Prom was “Over the Rainbow.” A capacity crowd danced to the melodious music of the “Stardusters” at the Junior-Senior prom, which was held on Friday the 13th of May.

The theme was carried out by a huge lighted overhead rainbow, which extended from one end of the gym to the other between clouds in a soft blue sky. At either end of the gym rain trickled down from the end of the rainbow. It fell on the east into a beautiful lily pond, and in the west on an immense umbrella which covered the King’s and Queen’s thrones.
