Important School Personalities

It takes more than just the administrators, teachers, and students to make our modern schooling system possible. There are many other important duties to be done, listed below are the other important cogs in the machinery--personalities deserving of much merit and credit.

CUSTODIANS Most people do not realize how much a school custodian has on his mind and must accomplish during a day. Our custodians have done a fine job this year from shoveling the front sidewalk to firing the furnace and keeping things shipshape. Mr. Walter Hinkle has been janitor 22 years and 4 months at the close of the 1950 school term. Mr. Arvin Wendlandt has been here two years

COOKS The cooks for Reardan Schools, Mrs. Jack Owens and Mrs. Emery Henry have provided with a fine hot lunch program this year. Each day we have had appetizing menus and nutritious food. The quality of their food goes unsurpassed and it is plentiful to "extras". Compliments for their efforts for the school have been very numerous. Besides having been thrifty, our cooks were also wise in selecting foods of high food value. Mrs. Jack Owens has been cook 4 years and Mrs. Emery Henry has been here cooking for 2 years.

BUS DRIVERS

We owe a special tribute to our fine group of bus divers who have a tough job in keeping on schedule and who, must battle against the odds when old man winter strikes his most severe blows.

The drivers have been regular and punctual driving the buses fall and spring. Left to right in the picture shown are Charlie Lightle, Burdette Lightle, Jack Owens, Jim Clinton, Gene Fell, Hank Koberstine, James Dewar, Frank Weipert, end Harold Anderson.

MECHANIC

A fellow that is really a transportation “busy body" is Mr. Burdette Lightle. He is the men who's responsibility to keep all nine buses rolling along in good shape through thick and thin (snow and mud!!). A driver aw well as mechanic. Mr. Lightle know his busiest season during the long, cold winter days when the weather man wreaks havoc upon school bus transportation.
