On September 5, 1949, twenty-five freshmen presented themselves to the Reardan

The following were elected:
<poem> President: Paul. Lillengreen Vice President: Joy Halverson Secretary: Virginia Thiemens Treasurer: Betty Brommer Council Representative: Carol Lightle Class Advisor: Mr. McKay <poem>
We were initiated by the seniors on the evening of September 23. We enjoyed ourselves even tho we were put through many embarrassing stunts.
We returned the party on the evening of April 1.
During the year, Virginia Forthhoffer and Jane Marker left us. A Latvian girl was one of our group for a few weeks,
Then as sophomores we started the new school year with an "almost new" member, Jane Marker, Bobby Franklin moved to Oregon and Ruth Conner left us in December.
Many of the boys participated in athletics, Carol Lightle was chosen as a yell leader and Harold Rhoads did good work on the F. F. A. judging team.
