TO MR. W. H. PADLEY

We, the annual staff of Reardan High School, proudly dedicate this 1953 yearbook.

We are proud to pay our respects to a man who, as teacher, lawyer, and citizen, typifies true Americanism.

Since the days when Mr. Padley served as superintendent of Reardan’s first high school to the evening of the dedication of the new Reardan Elementary School—a period of great change—he has been sincerely interested in education throughout the nation and particularly in the activities of the Reardan Schools.

We pay tribute to Mr. Padley as he reflects American education in its best form—an independent thinker whose judgment is based on logic and human understanding; whose sense of justice permeates his practice of law; whose keen sense of humor permits him to view the world not with pessimism but with gentle irony; whose appreciation of the importance of work, of the dignity of man, of personal integrity has lifted him above the need for a made-to-order philosophy of living.

It is with great pleasure and sincerity of purpose that we, the annual staff, dedicate this book to an outstanding community leader, friend, and citizen—Mr. Padley.
