Sophomore Class

On September 6, 1955, twenty-three Freshmen entered Reardan High School. On the evening of September 23, we were initiated by the Seniors. Class officers for the Freshman year were:

President: James Clouse
Vice-president: Delbert Wisdom
Secretary: Barbara Anyan
Treasurer: Lorene Remmers
Council Rep.: Kenneth Ahlf
Annual Reporter: Mina Johnson
Class Advisor: Miss Raymer

The class activity of the year was a roller skating party held at Cooks Roller Rink for the entire student body. Joanne Burton was our candidate for Carnival Queen.

Twenty-four students enrolled on Sept. 4, 1956 for their Sophomore year. We gained Pauline Robinson from Edwall, Betty Howe from North Central, Spokane; and Barbara Newberry from Puyallup. Joanne Brunton withdrew from the class. At our first class meeting the following officers were elected:

President: Kenneth Ahlf
Vice-president: Darwin Wisdom
Secretary-Treasurer: Priscilla Walden
Council Rep.: Wayne Rattray
Annual Reporter: Linda Humphrey
Class Advisor: Mr. Nevirauskus

The highlight of the year was a “Hobo Dance” held April 12, 1957 in the Multi- purpose room of the Grade School, Everyone came dressed as a hobo. Decorations were appropriate for the theme chosen. Music was provided by a record player. A prize of a can of pork and beans was awarded the persons with the best costumes. The prize going to Jim Seagle and Donna Collier.

Lorene Remmers was our candidate for Carnival Queen.
