A. C. Patton, for the past 14 years bookkeeper at the Grain Growers, has enlisted in the navy and will report for duty on July 5. He resigned on Saturday night and with Mrs. Patton will spend a few days visiting with relatives and friends. Mrs. Patton and children will reside at Reardan.

July 20, 1944 Davenport Times-Tribune

A. C. Patton left Saturday for Farragut, where he will start his basic training. He was given a rating of storekeeper second class. He has been employed as a bookkeeper at the Reardan Grain Growers for many years.

A. C. Patton, who is stationed at the naval base at Farragut, spend a few hours leave with his family here Wednesday of last week.

A 41-year-old recruit, Alexander Carter Patton of Reardan has been named honor man of his company on completing training at the U.S. naval training center at Farragut.

A 1920 graduate of Odessa high school, Patton attended Washington state college two years. He was employed 14 years by the Reardan Grain Growers, Inc., and was a bookkeeper for a hardware company for three years. He was enlisted with the rank of storekeeper second class.

His wife Alice [nee Weipert] and children, Robert, Beverly and Joan, live at Reardan. [To make this more confusing Alice's brother Roy Weipert's wife is Pat Zeimantz whose brother is Jack Zeimantz.]

November 16, 1944 Davenport Times-Tribune

A. C. Patton, who went into the navy in July and recently completed his boot camp training at Farragut, has been assigned to the disbursement department at Farragut.

December 7, 1944 Davenport Times-Tribune

A. C. Patton is with the navy in the disbursement department at Camp Ward, Farragut, Idaho, and spent the weekend with his family here. Staff Sergeant Lyle B. Beavers of Geiger Field and Mrs. Beavers were dinner guests Saturday evening at the A. C. Patton home. They all attended the dance at the Legion Hall.

January 11, 1945 Davenport Times-Tribune

Second Class Petty Officer A. C. Patton, who was in the disbursement department at Farragut, left Tuesday for Miami, Fla., where he will attend a school. He was bookkeeper at the Reardan Grain Growers for 14 years and entered the service in July. He spent Sunday with his family.

Petty Officer second class A. C. Patton, who was at Miami, Fla., is now at Newark, N. J., awaiting assignment, presumably overseas.

Storekeeper second class A. C. Patton writes his family he has been on the sea for three weeks. He left from Brooklyn and his fleet post office is New York. Before entering the service, he was bookkeeper for the Reardan Grain Growers.

A. C. Patton, who joined the navy a year ago, was in port in California recently and was with his wife one day. She was visiting in California at that time. He said for some time he had been around Cuba, but is now in the Pacific.

September 13, 1945 Davenport Times-Tribune

A. C. Patton, who entered the navy in July of last year, writes his wife that he is on the destroyer escort Joseph E. Connelly and is with the 3rd fleet on the coast of Japan.

September 27, 1945 Davenport Times-Tribune

A. C. Patton writes his wife that he is with the Third Fleet and was on his way home. He will reach San Francisco about October 15. From there he goes to Farragut for his discharge. He entered the service 14 months ago.

October 25, 1945 Davenport Times-Tribune

Storekeeper 2-c A. C. Patton arrived home Tuesday night following his discharge at Bremerton. He entered the service in July 1944, and was in the Pacific since May. Prior to joining the navy, he had been bookkeeper for 14 years for the Reardan Grain Growers, Inc.
