Jack Zeimantz was born at Mondovi, September 29, 1917. This would place him with the class of 1935. He was working for the Crescent store in Spokane at the time he registered for the draft in 1940. He enlisted May 22, 1942.

JACK H. ZEIMANTZ KILLED IN ACTION
Mrs. Florence Zeimantz, W1824 First, received word yesterday from the war department that her son, Pfc. Jack H. Zeimantz, 26, was killed in action July 24 in New Guniea. There were no other details.
Pvt. Zeimantz was born In Reardan, attended Reardan grade schools and Lewis and Clark and Gonzaga high schools in Spokane. He was in defense work in [Sacramento,] California when he entered military service in May, 1942. He trained at Camp Roberts, Calif.. and in Texas and went to the southwest Pacific last February with the infantry.
Other survivors include a brother S/Sgt. Robert F. Zeimantz, in the air forces at Salina, Kan.. and two sisters, Patricia Anne and Phyllis, at the home.
