Vern N. Anderson of Edwall, who is stationed at Lubbock army air field, Lubbock, Texas, has been promoted from second to first lieutenant. He is instructing combat flyers in the intricacies of instrument flying.

With Lt. Anderson in Texas is his wife, and she was recently appointed Red Cross chairman for the L. A. A. F. officer's wives club. She is working in the vocational rehabilitation for hospital bed patients.

Vern had a career in the Air Force reaching the rank of Major. After retirement he became a letter carrier for the Edwall post office.
