Miss Lillian Oehlschlaeger, a graduate nurse of the Deaconess hospital in Spokane, was commissioned second lieutenant of the army and has gone to Medford, Ore. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Oehlschlaeger of the Crescent region.

Air Cadet Glenn Oehlschlaeger is receiving his basic training at Jefferson Barracks, Mo. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Oehlschlaeger and entered the service in May. Mr. and Mrs. Oehlschlaeger, have received word from their daughter, Lt. Lillian Oehlschlaeger, who is with the army nurses' corps, that she has arrived at a south Pacific island.

The ship is reported to have a capacity of 700 hospital beds. Lt. Oehlschlaeger is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Oehlschlaeger and has made two trips to New Caledonia. She has been stationed at Camp Anza, [Riverside,] Calif., for the past few months.

Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Oehlschlaeger had word that their daughter, Lillian has been promoted to first lieutenant in the nurse's corps. She is with a hospital ship in the Pacific. Lt. Oehlschlaeger has been at Guam, Saipan and the Philippine islands, A recent assignment was assisting the evacuation of the wounded men from Okinawa. She has been in the Pacific for nine months [since her last furlough].

First Lt. Lillian Oehlschlaeger, who served three years with the Army Nurses Corps, returned home Tuesday on terminal leave and will receive her discharge Feb. 5. Lt. Oehlschlaeger is a graduate of the Deaconess hospital school of nursing in Spokane. She made two trips to New Caledonia and had 18 months on a hospital ship. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Oehlschlaeger.
