GOOD BYE TO STEVENS


The Bridge Connecting the Counties Will Not be Rebuilt.


The Lapray bridge on the road between this city and Stevens county may not be rebuilt, The structure was a joint bridge owned by Spokane and Stevens county and it is understood that the commissioners of the latter county are not inclined to do anything in the matter and if they can get along without the bridge Spokane can also.

The commissioners have about completed an estimate of the damage done by floods this year and think that it will be in the neighborhood of $20,000, Contracts for the construction or repair of the various bridges have nearly all been let, J. L. Bailey, the veteran bridge builder. left today to inspect and report upon the condition of the Cowley bridge. The new steel bridge at Latah which will cost $2,150, is about completed,
