LINCOLN

REARDAN, Wash, Oct. 19,—E. R. Childs, the drugsist, swore out a complaint and had Dr. Kaulbach brought before Justice of the Peace J, S. Capps in an attempt to have the doctor placed under bonds to keep the peace.

Childs claimed that Waulbach_ threatened to whip him should he catch Childs whipping his wife again. Mrs. Childs is suing for a divorce, and pending the granting of her plea is still living with her husband who, it is claimed, is cruel to her.

The trial of Dr. Kaulbach took place in the post office as Mr. Capps is also postmaster, and in addition to his duties as such dispenses justice. No records were kept and the trial was very informal, Dr. Kaulbach demanded a jury trial, which was refused, Justice Capps deemed it necessary to place the doctor under $100 bonds, which he refused to furnish, and is, therefore, living at the expense of the county at present and will be taken to Davenport today. Further developments are awaited with much interest.
