SURVEY LITTLE FALLS ROAD
Whether From Springdale or Rear- dan to Be Decided.
REARDAN, Wash,, June 6.—The preliminary survey for the proposed railroad between Reardan and Little Falls was begun yesterday, and the question as to whether the new road will be built from Springdale to the river or from Reardan to the river will soon be decided. The distance from Reardan to the river is about eight miles less than from Springdale, but it is said the grade from here is heavier.
The Chamokane Lumber company of this place owns over 86 sections of timber land on the north side of the river and operates a sawmill just below Little Falls. It will make every effort to get the road on this side of the river.
There are many fine fruit farms to be developed along the river as soon as better transportation facilities are obtained.
A stage line will be operated between Reardan and Little Falls, the first stage leaving here today.
The town council has ordered a fire bell and curfew will ring at 8 o'clock,
The funeral of Mrs. J. H. Hoye will be held Sunday,
