SPOKANE: POWER AT REARDAN
Big Bend Light and Power Company Buys Ont Local Plant.
REARDAN, Wash. July 4—The Big Bend Light and Power company has purchased the local power plant, and Spokane power was turned on last night. This power will also be used by the Washington Grain and Milling company to operate their mill at the beginning of the season's run, August 1. The mill will have finished this season’s run July 10, and will close down for repairs, and to install new machinery.
The Chamokane Lumber company closed down the mill north of here July 1. It has cut 2,500,000 feet of lumber during the last season's run, and has about the same amount in stock.
Henry Mahrt has purchased what ts known as the J. Q. Reynolds quarter. section north of here from M. M. Dickson for $6000.
The winter wheat in this vicinity ts still looking good, and an average crop is expected, but the spring wheat crop will be light if it does not rain within the next 10 days.
