REUBEN BOWERS STORES BIPLANE

Reuben Bowers has stored his bi-plane at Alexander's place in Orchard Park addition, where he has been experimenting for the last month,

Thursday several runs were made under calm atmospheric conditions, but the machine failed to leave the ground.

The weight of the machine has been cut down from 600 to 550 pounds.

An Eldridge gasoline four-cylinder engine has been used, with a stated capacity of 60 horsepower and 1500 revolutions per minute. It will probably be replaced with a Hall-Scott engine. The revolution of the propeller is said to be only 1000 per minute, while a 50 per cent greater efficiency would lift and sail the ship.

Mr. Bowers, as a machinist, will work for the Northwestern Harvester company.
