SPRINGDALE TO ELECT
VOTERS NOMINATE CITY TICKET FOR APPROVAL DECEMBER 8.
But One Train the Week to Long Lake—Plan to Abandon Road.
SPRINGDALE, Wash., Nov, 29.—At a primary caucus last night the following ticket was nominated to be voted on at the town election Tuesday, December 8:
Councilmen for terms of two years each, Dr. Richard Foster and Frank E. Newton; treasurer for one year, Charles O. Snapp, incumbent. The retiring members of the council are T. A. Tucker and J. S. Fellers, neither of whom was a candidate for renomination,
Commencing December 1 the Chamokane Contracting company will run but one train per week over its railroad between Springdale and Long Lake, instead of three times per week as heretofore. It is also announced that upon completion of the big dam of the Washington Water Power company at Long Lake, probably early next spring, the Chamokane road will be taken up and the right of way abandoned. The line is 21 miles in length, standard gauge, and was constructed four years ago to transport machinery and supplies for the Long Lake dam. The Chamokane Contracting company 1s a subsidiary corporation of the Washington Water Power company.
Snow fell here last night to the depth of an inch.
