PULLMAN GIRL WEDS REARDAN MERCHANT

Miss Helen Quarels and Norman Raymer Were United in Marriage Yesterday Afternoon

At 2:00 o’clock yesterday afternoon Miss Helen Quarels, a popular Pullman girl, became the bride of Norman Raymer, a prosperous business man of Reardan. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Wm. Laird, by Dr, W. A. Spalding, in the presence of about 30 relatives and friends of the contracting parties. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Ruth Quarels, and the groom by his brother, Nelson Raymer. Elizabeth, a little sister of the groom, acted as flower girl and strewed white sweet peas before the bridal party. Miss Frances Aiken sang Grieg’s ‘“‘I Love You” and Miss Zelva Mecklem of Palouse played the wedding march.

The house was beautifully decorated with a profusion of pink and white asters and sweet peas and the ceremony was performed under an arch of green vines and pink and white asters. The bride was gowned in white silk net over silver cloth, with a bodice of spangles and pearl beads. She wore a bridal veil and carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses, white sweet peas and maiden hair ferns. The bridesmaid wore a gown of rose taffeta and carried a bouquet of carnations and sweet peas. After the ceremony delicious refreshments were served by four sorority sisters of the bride. The happy couple left at once for a tour of the Yellowstone National park, after which they will make their home at Reardan.

The out-of-town guests at the wedding were the father and mother of the groom, his sister, Mrs. Latham, and her husband and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Gill, all of Reardan, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Burgan and Mrs. Stough of Spokane; Mrs. Richard Boyles of Colton, Miss Olive Brunning of Colfax, and W. J. Jordan of Lewiston, Idaho.

The bride is a graduate of the Pullman schools and of the State College, in the social life of which she took an active part, being a prominent member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Last year she taught at Reardan, where she became acquainted with the man who is now her husband. She has a host of friends in this community who will join heartily in wishing her a full measure of happiness and prosperity.
