BUILD LITTLE FALLS BRIDGE

Contract to W. A, Byers Is Confirmed—Start Work at Once.

By joint agreement between the commissioners of Lincoln and Stevens counties and officials of the Washington Water Power company, reached yesterday in the office of Chief Engineer V. H. Greisser of the power company, contract for a new concrete bridge across the Spokane river at the Little Falls power plant was ratified. The contract goes to Ww. A. Byers of Spokane, who expects to begin work at once.

While the amount of the contract was not given yesterday, the completed cost of the bridge was placed at approximately $15,000. The bridge will have a single span of 110 feet with a total length over all of 150 feet and carry a 16-foot roadway, It will replace a wooden bridge erected in 1909 by the Washington Water Power company, at the time of the building of the Little Falls power plant. The new bridge will afford an outlet for Reardan and Davenport to that part of Stevens county north of the Spokane river.

Lincoln county was represented in the negotiations by J. E. Ferguson, chairman of the board of county commissioners, and J. L. Thayer, county engineer; Stevens county by John H. Savage of Chewelah, chairman of the board of county commissioners; J. S, Lane of Boyd, a member of the board; T. M. Offutt, county engineer, and O. W. Noble, county attorney. It is understood that the two counties and the Washington Water Power company will share the cost.
