PAVELICH TO FACE RETRIAL IN MAY

Jury Which Heard Evidence This Month Fails to Agree.

John Pavelich, charged with manslaughter in connection with the accident in which Dr. George Green was killed at Fourth avenue and Division street, must face trial again next month Prosecutor Charles Leavy said yesterday.

The facts in the case justify a retrial and efforts will be made to have the placed on the May docket," Mr. Leavy said.

A jury that deliberated on Pavelich’s case from Friday evening until late Saturday afternoon failed to reach a verdict and was discharged by Superior Judge Webster, when announced that they were hopelessly deadlocked. They are understood to have stood eight to four in favor of an acquittal.

Pavelich is alleged to have been the driver of the Lincoln touring car that collided with Dr. Green's car, causing the death of the physician.
