FARMERS BANK WINS ITS APPEAL
REARDAN, Wash., April 29.—(Special.)—Word has been received that, the Farmers’ State bank of Reardan has won its appeal in the case involving a chattel mortgage on the 1925 crop on the Chick farm of 11,000 acres near Reardan. The case was appealed by R. L. Edmiston, attorney of Spokane.
The lower court had allowed a claim of $6000 from the crop to be applied on a $50,000 mortgage which had been foreclosed by the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance company. The Farmers’ State bank held an $11,000 1925 crop mortgage and the lower court applied $6000 of the crop return to the mortgage company instead of all of it to the bank. The decision of the higher court gives it to the bank.
