A great deal of buying activity
was recently reported by The Spokesman-Review as taking place at Monroe end Indiana, where six deals were made and one is pending, The principal deal was the leasing to J. C. Penney company of the property at the southeast corner of Monroe and Indiana by H. J. Mattes, Reardan lumberman. Mr, Mattes will tear down the present one-story brick building and erect a two-story brick building to cost $75,000, adapted to the needs of the lessee.
Penney Seeks Blakely Building.
The J. C. Penney company is negotiating with W. B. Roberts for a long time lease on the Blakely store building, Post and Main. This deal is conditional on agreemont being reached between H. M. Blakely and the J. C. Penney company. Mr. Blakely has a lease for 12 years.
