LIQUOR CRUSADE OPENS IN IDAHO
State Board Files Files Suit Against Alleged Competitor in Sale of Intoxicants.
WALLACE, Idaho, Aug. 20.—Abatement proceedings against the Silver Sails beer parlor at Smelterville, operated by John Pavelich and Elmer L. Hardesty, were instituted in district court this afternoon by the Idaho liquor commission through Prosecutor Robert Brown.
Pavelich and Hardesty, with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seibert, owners of the property, are cited to appear in district court August 24, to show cause against injunction from operating.
Affidavits of liquor commission investigators, reciting alleged purchase of alcoholic liquor in the establishment, were filed with the complaint.
The action is said to be part of the commission's drive for stricter observance of state liquor laws, and follows similar action recently in south Idaho. The case today was reported to be the first of several proposed for Shoshone county.
