Detillion Bridge Ready for Use

Rocks Are Removed from Bed; High Water Did Little Damage

Traffic is now going via the Detillion bridge to Davenport, having been opened on Thursday by the state highway department. The rocks, which were placed on the road- bed of the bridge to hold it down when the high water from the backwater of the Grand Coulee dam rose over the bridge, were removed this week by the highway maintenance crews and the small damage to the approaches has been repaired.

The traffic has been detoured via old Fort Spokane for the past several weeks, and the U. S. B. R. has been using the tugboat “The Blue Ox” for a ferry.

The resumption of use of the Detillion bridge allows for much faster travel between the Stevens county and Davenport points, it was reported.
