REARDAN NURSE IS PROMOTED

REARDAN, Wash., June, 11,—Lillian Oehlschlaeger, daughter of, Mr. and Mrs, P. F. Oehlschlaeger, a nurse on a hospital ship, has been promoted to first lieutenant. She is in the Pacific and since she left the States in September last year has been to Saipan, Guam and the Philippines, Her recent assignment was in assisting in evacuating the wounded from Okinawa.

Cpl. Adrian Bafus has been awarded the bronze star. He also wears the presidential unit citation. Cpl. Bafus was the Smith-Hughes instructor here prior to entering the service four years ago. He is with the Third army near Dresden, Germany. His wife is dietitian at Washington State college.
