EARLY REARDAN MATRON CALLED
REARDAN, Wash., June 5.—Mary Elizabeth Driscoll, pioneer, died suddenly from a heart attack at her home Saturday. Born at Farley, Iowa, she went with her parents to a farm at Syracuse, N. Y. Following her graduation from One Onta normal, she taught school several years in New York state.
In 1899 she married James Dris- coll who had come west nine years previous to survey land for the Northern Pacific railroad. Mr. and Mrs. Driscoll were in the general merchandise business in Reardan until the time Mr. Driscoll died in 1930.
Mrs. Driscoll was the town librarian for 19 years, a charter member of Reardan Women's. Study club, and a member of Altar society of St. Michael church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alton G. Nordale of Juneau, Alaska, and Mrs. Everett Rice of Reardan; three brothers, Thomas Berrigan, Syracuse, N. Y.; John| Berrigan, and Rev. Edmond Berrigan, both of Phoenix, N. Y.; a sister, Sister Maria Josephine, at the New York Foundling hospital, New York city, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral arrangements are in care of the Hennessey Funeral home, Spokane, Wash.
