REARDAN BUTCHER TO SELL, RETIRE
REARDAN, Wash. May 23.—William L. Hopkins, pioneer butcher of Reardan, is retiring from business, and will sell his equipment, including the meat market building and the slaughter house and grounds at public auction Wednesday.
Hopkins worked for the late Conrad Scharman from 1905 to 1926, when he purchased the business.
Auxiliary to Meet
Starlight auxiliary will meet at the lodge hall Monday at 10 a. m. instead of Tuesday as previously planned. Mrs. Ernest Hayes, Mrs. Dorothy Ruckhaber and Mrs. Elsie Wagner are the hostesses.
Commencement for the 1953 graduates will be held Wednesday evening in the school auditorium. Dr. Theron Maxson, vice president of Whitworth college, is to be the guest speaker. Esther Humphrey, valedictorian, and Shirley Ensor, salutatorian, will give addresses.
Spring Creek Grange will hold its meeting next week on Thursday because of the Reardan high school graduation on the regular meeting night.
Bud Lucht, Korean veteran, will show pictures during the lecture hour.
