H. J. Mattes Estate Valued at $844,674

Howard Joseph Mattes, who died here Aug. 19, left an estate worth $844,674, according to papers filed at the county clerk's office today by Attorney Clyde H. Belknap.

The community property estate included bank accounts, stocks and bonds and real estate in Spokane.

In a will, he left his wife, E. Rose Mattes, their home at E427 Twenty-fourth, plus an auto and personal effects.

The will also sets up $5,000 trust funds for two grandsons, Howard M. and Edward N. Crosby, E14709 Broadway; gives $1,000 each to two daughters, Katherine Laing, S724 Monroe, and Margaret Crosby, E14709 Broadway, and leaves the income from the rest equally to the wife and daughters.
