Warning Signs Favored by FFA

REARDAN, Wash.—The Reardan Future Farmers of America chapter is spearheading a drive to replace red warning flags on slow-moving vehicles with fluorescent signs.

State Sen. Nat Washington, D-Ephrata, gave emphasis to the cause by introducing a bill requiring the brilliant emblems, which would be mounted on the rear of vehicles.

Wally Vog, Reardan’s FFA adviser, and Jay Garber, farm safety chairman, are working on a project to sell the 14-inch triangular signs to farmers in the area.

The project has been approved by the National Safety Council, said Gary Humphrey, chapter reporter.
