Mrs. Rose Mattes

Mrs. Rose KE, Mattes, 93, an area early settler, died today in a nursing home here.

A Kentucky native, she had settled in Harrington, Wash, in 1902. Following her marriage to the late Howard Joseph Mattes, a lumberman, the couple lived in Reardan until 1926 when they moved to Spokane.

Here Mr, Mattes built and operated several business buildings.

Mrs. Mattes was a member of Manito Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. E. J. (Marjorie) Crosby, and Mrs. R. E. (Helen) Wert, both of Spokane and two grandsons.
