Charles Lightle
SPOKANE
Visitation for Charles G, “Charlie” Lightle, 97, will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Riplinger Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m, Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Reardan, Wash. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Old Chewelah Cemetery in Chewelah, Wash.
Mr. Lightle, who was born in Bogard, Mo., died Saturday. He was a longtime resident of Reardan before moving to Spokane 10 years ago.
He moved from Missouri to Chewelah with his family in 1906, He married Elsie Hartill in 1926. The couple lived briefly in Spokane, Republic and Davenport, Wash., before settling in Reardan.
Mr, Lightle worked as a meat cutter for many years. He also drove a Reardan school bus for many years, managed the town’s maintenance department and plowed the streets in the winter,
He sang baritone with the Spokane Melody Singers for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Hassie Club, the Spring Creek Grange and Reardan Presbyterian Church.
His wife died in 1994.
Survivors include two daughters, Audreyann Schreiner of Chattaroy and Geraldine Teboe of Hot Springs, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaugnter.
