Reardan Consolidations in Stevens County
In the 1950s, Ford was sending their high school students to Reardan. They considered consolidating with Reardan, but state law prohibited that since the districts did not share borders. (Long Lake was not yet consolidated with Reardan.) Ford and Loon Lake consolidated with Springdale.
Edwall Consolidations

Reardan-Edwall Consolidation
In 1957 Edwall started sending their high school students to Reardan.
In 1975 Reardan and Edwall consolidated to form Reardan-Edwall Joint School District #009.
This district covers about 336 square miles. It completely includes one state park, Fisk State Park, and part of the larger Riverside State Park. The district is the second largest in the state. For comparison of the land area:

Serving 695 students in 2021 results in a little over 2 students per square mile. Looking at that from a family perspective, the 386 families served are 1.15 families per square mile. The perimeter of the district is on the order of 125 miles.
