Verne Landt

Verne Landt, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Landt, has been accepted by the marine corps and will report for duty sometime this month. Verne is a junior in the high school. He has a brother Pfc. Ellwood Landt, who is in the army with an anti-aircraft coast artillery division stationed in north Africa.

Private Verne Landt writes his parents that he is now taking his "boot training" at the marine corps base at San Diego. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Landt and was in his junior year in high school when he enlisted.

Verne Landt, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Landt, has received a medal as a sharpshooter in the marine corps stationed at San Diego. He has been in the service for about three months and was a student in the junior class when he entered the service.

Corporal Ellwood Landt, who is with the chemical battalion and was in Italy, is now in France. He entered the service two years ago and has spent all but three months overseas. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt and is a graduate of the local high school. His brother, Marine Pfc. Verne Landt, is somewhere in the Pacific. He has been in the service a year.

Marine Pfc. Verne Landt, who operates a 115 millimeter gun with the field artillery, informs his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt, he has been moved from Hawaii, and cannot reveal his whereabouts, but is not at Iwo Jima. He entered the service a little over a year ago.
